Better is a subjective word. One may be to some while may not be to others.
Yet as followers of Christ, there is nothing better for us than His presence in our lives, not only at church but also in our hearts and minds.
It means being in God’s presence from Monday to Sunday, 24/7.
It is possible to still be with God at home, at work, in school, at the market, or paying your bills, for He is everywhere.
Thus, in this world’s values of achievement, in whatever circumstances, easy or difficult, good or bad, rich or poor, we are secure of his promise that He will never leave us nor forsake us.
And there’s nothing better than that. It’s the best!
This is from Roy Lessin’s meetmeinthemeadow.com:
Better is God’s “well done faithful servant” than the world’s biggest pat on the back.
Better is God’s lowliest place of service than the world’s highest seat of power.
Better is God’s smallest measure of blessing than the world’s largest treasure of wealth.
Better is God’s word of wisdom than the world’s strongest opinions and best advice.
Better is God’s smile of approval than the world’s loudest shouts of praise.
“Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere.” Psalm 84:10
